The harness racing industry must begin to educate the public. Most folks understand many of the sports because they were raised in a sports environment from grade school through college.
People who did not grow up around the racetracks don’t realize Standardbreds are a beautiful, hard-working, God-created, specific registered breed that loves to race. They don’t realize owners, trainers, drivers, grooms, veterinarians, blacksmiths, breeders, etc. devote their days and lives to create a fantastic show.
The sad part is that most people have no idea how much thought, work, money, etc. is spent daily to produce these shows. This MUST change.
